Purchased two Kwik Hoists at different times to be used with 55 gallon drums as homemade game feeders. One of them works flawlessly. The second one the winch is useless. The teeth are not long enough to lock the feeder in either the up or down position. Its clearly a problem with the manufacturer of the winch and not the bracket itself. If I had to guess, Viking is simply buying the winch from a supplier that has provided a junk part. I have called Viking customer service for the last 9 months and constantly get the same response that they have to “check with the warehouse to see if spare parts are available.” My most recent call they offered to once again check with the warehouse and would get back to me in a few days, or I could buy a new Kwik Hoist for half price. The thought of paying even $45 for a contraption that doesn’t work or having to deal with customer service again made me reject the offer. Do NOT waste your time or money with buying of these.

Box arrived damaged and it did have have a part missing and some of the screwed were different dimensions even though the manual stated all you need is a size 13 wrench. I did spend about 2 hr total on assembly and grinding down the thrice weld marks as the two squared tubes did not fit together. In addition one of the screw holes holding the wire cable pulls did not align and needed further drilling and grinding. Product seems very sturdy but have not tired it yet. Overall it seem to be ok if you do not mind spending couple of hour fixing the poor quality control issues.

The hoist frame us well built, but the winch used is a total piece of junk. The Ratchet dog assembly failed the second time we used it. It would not hold a 180 pound deer, so we had to strap the winch crank handle with a Ratchet strap to prevent it from free wheeling. Gonna replace the winch with something that is quality made. Other than the junk Chinese winch, it’s a nice unit.

I was skeptical of this when I ordered it. It was, however the best thing I bought for hunting season this year. My only complaint was the lack of instructions. NO instructions for assembly whatsoever. I had to use the picture on the box to assemble it, and basically use guesswork to figure out where the hardware went. Being mechanically inclined, it didn’t take long to figure it out, but mounting the winch assembly to the frame of the hoist arm and figuring out the pulley hardware was tricky. I only gave four stars for the lack of instructions. Otherwise, this is an absolute beast and will hoist any deer I could harvest in Arkansas. I would be confident hoisting a 300 plus pound animal with this, no problem.

After reading reviews I was kinda worried about this product but after buying it and using on a hunting trip in ohio I don’t see how anyone could write anything bad about this product.. I worked like a charm for me.. couldn’t of asked for anything more better to use

I have used this item twice this season, and each time it took seconds to set up and worked like a charm. I am very, very pleased with this purchase. And one of the things I love about it is that I can bring this anywhere on the land I hunt to field dress, skin and quarter game right where it fell. What a convenience!

Needs a bottom security strap. Has changed where I hunt because I can load a deer by myself.

The pulley cant be mounted correctly without modification. Some of the bolts are damaged right out of the package. If you’re handy with a file you can make this work.

Great hoist and design, works easily and well. Sturdy when setup on tree and easy enough to do it alone. Super happy I bought this hoist over other options

Great product for hanging deer feeders. Easy to assemble and install. Fairly portable and can hold a nice amount of weight. I am able to move from tree to tree in minutes making placement versatile.
