Great for tight nooks and crannies of wherever bolts may be and it’s versatile with having a nut hex design in the back of the jaw, a flat bill for the front of the jaw, and the adjustable locking slider. The nut hex design is nice for gripping nuts where you’re screwing in the bolt and with Knipex’s known leverage design (push from the top handle to force the jaws to close against the nut), you’re either going to break the threads or your wrist, but never your Knipex. German engineering. The flat bill at the front of the jaw is dual purpose in clamping down ends like a metal lip or flat piece that needs to be shimmied in place AND it can be used for larger nuts or bolt heads with how long the flat section of the jaws are. German ingenuity. The adjustable locking slider is another staple of Knipex’s advancement in use of everyday tools to make our work easier. No more slipping out of the grooves, no more misaligned handles as you grimace for the jaws to slip off, no more stuck jaws from damage and scoring of the metal, and most importantly, no more pinched fingers so you can keep on working all day long (and still give the Missus a nice tickle down under back home). German foresight.

First off if you’re new to Knipex, they are impressive and worth every penny. More or less everything they make is impressive and will be the best for a specific design (e.g. needle nose pliers) and that includes Snap On. So it’s really high praise to say that these might be my favorite set of Knipex Pliers, as I am fortunate to own 16 different sets of theirs.Much like everything they make, they are extremely durable and I have no concerns about them ever breaking as I don’t remember even reading a review over a broken product they make let alone have one break on me. The adjusting mechanism is brilliant as it’s the same one they use on multiple designs (which isn’t a bad thing) . The reason I like these so much is that the head geometry, as they act very similar to needle nose pliers, but are easier to get much higher bite. If you can only own one set of their pliers the “classic” design is the way to go, these IMO are a close second. Highly recommend.Edit: My Knipex collection has spiraled a little out of control (see pics if you want to see what I’m “comparing” it too), but still consider this to be my favorite set. At least for automotive use, I just find myself using these constantly. Also the rack I keep them on is the “Pliers Rack II”

Strong and reliable , I’ve been using the standard version of this tool professionally for years I bought this one for the smaller profile which comes in handy sometimes. If you’re only going to buy one you should buy this slimmer version.

I had to have these as I know Knipex makes the BEST tools. I had a pair that I lent to a (former) friend and never got back, hence the former… The slim head on these (~1cm width) with the tapered design lets me reach at things a regular set of Cobra Pliers can’t get to. They open up one handed to over 4 inches or so and have padded handles for a slip proof strong grip. They have well hardened jaw steel with the trademarked COBRA design that beats all comers! I Highly Recommend these pliers for getting into a tight spot and getting a nice grip. Even Charley Brown could get a grip with these!I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

I strangely love these pliers. Kinda dual usage? I always prefer the thin handle Knipex for under hood clearance. The thicker handles I feel like dont let you squeeze as close together, and the extra outside diameter, as small as that is literally, gets in the way when working in tight quarters. I work on vehicles. Blue handle plier brand has wider jaws for pipe fittings. Knipex has better machined Axles and Hardened Jaws. Plus they rust less than my snap on pliers which do have to their credit the most comfortable grip (thick dipped) and hard carbon steel (that’s why they rust, must oil)

Cobras have a reputation for quality and it is deserved. I could still get the job done with lesser pliers, but quality like this just makes the job more fun.

I don’t want to sound bias, but I’ve yet been disappointed buying Knipex products. This different looking Channel Lock-like tool has did me well. As an electrician, specifically look for tools with the same functionality as Klein’s, yet with with a different appearance because I’m my trade almost everyone has the SAME tools. Therefore, I’ll sometimes come home with with someone’s tools thinking it’s mine. Knipex provides the same quality, but different look so everyone can differentiate theirs from mine. These particular plyers had allowed me to reach inside J-Boxes to tighten lock rings much easier.

The utility of the slim head on this particular Knipex plier is evident where the user is forced to contort to apply one handed grip pressure with limited access to fittings and nuts in awkward positions. It won’t replace your other “standard” Knipex cobras, alligators, or smooth jaw pliers wrenches. This is a slim headed cobra with the front portion of the jaws designed to grip flat stock. It will supplement the rest of your Knipex hand tool arsenal and it won’t break the bank. Highly recommended.

I wish I had these years ago. As other reviews said, get this extra-slim model if you’re only going to have one set. They’ve already gotten me out of a couple jams. They’re so much better than the channel-lock style pliers; and one of the few things that can get their teeth around the tight spots around the drain plug on RV water tanks.

I love this extra-slim Cobra design–it is nice both for the slim tip, but also the extended flat-area, with fine, sharply cut teeth. The regular Cobra’s are great for a lot of purposes, but I find it helpful to have a variety of head geometries available. This one is a bit like a needle-nose plier, though it does not have a sharp end. Great for getting into small places, and a better design for holding sheet metal or such than the regular Cobras, which are better for metal bar, bolts, and such.
